Day 1: Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii

Flight, City Tour

Your journey begins with a morning domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii, the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province (3 hour flight). Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel.

After lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy a city tour of Ulgii, including the local museum, mosque, and vibrant market where you can see traditional Kazakh handicrafts. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with traditional Kazakh cuisine and a cultural performance featuring traditional music and dombra (stringed instrument) playing.

Day 2: Ulgii to Eagle Hunter Family

Cultural Experience

After breakfast, drive through picturesque countryside to a Kazakh eagle hunter family (approx. 3-4 hours). Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by the family and settled into your accommodations.

Spend the afternoon learning about the ancient tradition of eagle hunting, including how eagles are trained and the special relationship between hunters and their birds. You'll have the opportunity to witness a demonstration of eagle hunting skills and perhaps even try holding a trained golden eagle on your arm (with assistance).

In the evening, enjoy dinner with the family and learn about their way of life through conversations with your guide as translator.
