Tour Overview

Embark on a one-day tour to explore Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's vibrant capital city. The city's origins trace back to 1639 when it was founded as the residence of Zanabazar, the first Bogd (spiritual leader) of Mongolian Buddhism, at Shireet Nuur in the current Uvurkhangai province. Over the centuries, the city relocated 28 times along the Orkhon, Selenge, and Tuul rivers before settling in its present location. Known by various names, including Urga, Khuree, and Ik Khuree, the city was officially renamed Ulaanbaatar (Red Hero) in 1924. Today, it stands as the cultural, economic, political, and social heart of the country.

Sukhbaatar Square

The central square of the city, featuring a statue of Sukhbaatar, a historical figure. The square is surrounded by important buildings such as the Government and Parliament Palace, Central Post Office, and the National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
